Photography
My creative path began with photography. It's a passion I've had since I was younger and it was my outlet at a time when I couldn't draw or paint what I wanted to show. I have further since developed these skills, however, photography remains one of my main tools. I utilize it now as part of my design process all while still honoring it as its own art form. ___________ I have extensive knowledge and experience when it comes to the technical side of photography having worked with a variety of film and digital cameras, from DSLR to large format 4x5 film, along with varying printing methods in the darkroom and giclee. My skillset regarding digital production includes anything from minor retouching such as cropping, straightening, color balance, and spot removal, to major editing such as replacing sky, foreground, HDR bracketing, and retouching vintage images. ____________ When creating an image, my goal is to show my viewer what I see and how I see it: how the quietness and softness of the world around us is always there and we, as people, rarely take the time to notice. The beauty of everyday occurrences, the patterns created in nature, the way raindrops hang on to flower petals; All of these pieces of our world draw me in and I have to share them.
